Blackhawks give defenseman Jan Hejda professional tryout, per report

The Chicago Blackhawks are giving defenseman Jan Hejda a professional tryout, reports Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline.

The 37-year-old has 627 regular-season games and 10 postseason outings with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche, all in the Western Conference. He has tallied 25 goals and 135 career points.

Last season in 81 games for Colorado, he recorded 13 points - one goal and 12 assists, with a Corsi rating of 43.5 at even strength.

Hejda has averaged at least 20 minutes of ice time in all nine NHL seasons except one. He figures to compete for a spot on the Hawks final defensive pairing.
