The Blackhawks fired head coach Joel Quenneville on Tuesday morning and named Jeremy Colliton as his replacement.
The team also let go assistant coaches Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson. Barry Smith was named an assistant coach to Colliton’s staff.
The Blackhawks are off to a 4-5-3 start to the season, but are currently on a five-game losing streak.
Quenneville, 60, joined the Blackhawks organization as a pro scout in September 2008 and in October of that year was promoted to head coach to replace Denis Savard. Quenneville guided the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
