The Blackhawks continued with their organizational overhaul Tuesday.
A day after firing assistant coach Mike Kitchen, the Blackhawks relieved Ted Dent, their AHL affiliate head coach, of his duties Tuesday.
Dent had been with the organization for 11 years and had been the Rockford IceHogs head coach for the last six seasons. He signed a three-year contract extension in April 2016.
“The Chicago Blackhawks thank Ted for all of his contributions throughout his tenure with the organization,” Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman wrote in a statement Tuesday. “He played a major role in helping a number of players reach the NHL level with the Chicago Blackhawks, many of whom became Stanley Cup champions.
