Blackhawks' farmhand Drew MacIntyre signs 2-year deal with Hamburg Freezers of German league

The Chicago Blackhawks goaltending "prospect" signed with the Hamburg Freezers of Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the team announced.

MacIntyre, 32, was acquired by Chicago in a trade for Dennis Robertson in February with the Carolina Hurricanes. He was immediately assigned to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL, where he won his first two starts before dropping the next five. He appeared in eight total games for Rockford.

In December, he represented Team Canada at the Spengler Cup and helped capture the title.
