The Blackhawks will be watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs from home for a second straight year.
After Colorado’s win over Edmonton on Tuesday night, Chicago was officially eliminated from Stanley Cup playoff contention and will miss the postseason in back-to-back years for the first time since 2007-08. Prior to 2018, the Blackhawks won three Stanley Cup championships during their nine-year playoff run.
Chicago started this season 3-0-2 with veteran backup goaltender Cam Ward while No. 1 starter Corey Crawford worked his way back after a 10-month absence with a concussion.
