Blackhawks forward Drake Caggiula exited Wednesday night’s game in Anaheim after being crushed by Ducks forward Rickard Rakell into the glass during the second period.

Caggiula was chasing down a puck in the offensive zone when Rakell came up from behind and hit Caggiula in the back that made him go face-first into the glass. Caggiula laid on the ice for a brief moment before getting to his knees and then skating off the ice with the help of teammates Alex DeBrincat and Marcus Kruger.

Caggiula went to the dressing room with the team medical staff, while Rakell was assessed a 5-minute major boarding penalty and a game misconduct for the hit.
