GLENDALE, Ariz. — Dominik Kubalik was named NHL Rookie of the Month for January after leading all rookies with 10 goals and 14 points in 10 games.
Kubalik kicked off the month with a three-point effort — all assists — in 7-5 loss to Vancouver on Jan. 2. He followed that up with a five-game goal streak, which was the longest by a Blackhawks rookie since Jeremy Roenick in 1989-90 and the second-longest by a rookie in franchise history (Darryl Sutter had a seven-game goal streak in 1981.
Kubalik recorded at least one point in eight games, scored a goal in seven of them, had four multi-point outings and three multi-goal games.
