By sending Rundblad to Rockford, the Blackhawks open up $950,000 in cap space, increasing their total cap space to roughly $1.6 million, according to generalfanager.com.
Rundblad, who has two assists and a minus-2 rating in nine games this season, signed a two-year deal with the Blackhawks over the offseason that carries a cap hit of $1.
