During Wednesday’s morning skate, defenseman Connor Murphy left early with a minor tweak and forward Zack Smith did not participate due to a lower back injury.
After the Blackhawks first practice at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany, ahead of their preseason finale Sunday against Eisbaren Berlin, head coach Jeremy Colliton announced Murphy and Smith will not play.
That likely means Dennis Gilbert, Slater Koekkoek or Carl Dahlstrom will take Murphy’s spot in the lineup.
