The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have assigned defenseman David Rundblad to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Rundblad, 25, has tallied two assists in nine games with the Blackhawks this season. The Lycksele, Sweden, native has registered 16 points (3G, 13A) in 63 regular-season games across three seasons with Chicago (2013-15). The 2015 Stanley Cup champion also appeared in five 2015 postseason games.
The Blackhawks return to action on Thursday, Dec. 31, when they matchup against the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. CT. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet and heard on WGN Radio AM-720.
