The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that defenseman Connor Murphy will be “off the ice” for six weeks with a back injury. This comes after the team announced that Murphy would be out at the beginning of training camp last Friday, and marks his return to the lineup around the early to mid December range.

Connor Murphy appeared in 76 games for Chicago last year, scoring two goals with 12 assists. He averaged just over 16 minutes of ice time per game, which was the second-lowest among all defensemen last season.
