Blackhawks forwards Andrew Shaw and Zack Smith will be out for the rest of the season due to a concussion and back injury, respectively.
Shaw was placed on long-term injured reserve Dec. 9 after he sustained a concussion against the Avalanche on Nov. 30 in Denver. He had 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 26 games before he missed the past 38 games with the concussion.
Chicago re-acquired Shaw with a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NHL draft from Montreal on June 30, 2019, for second- and seventh-round picks in the 2020 draft and a third-round pick in 2021.
