The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Alexandre Fortin are having ongoing discussions about a potential contract, according to Fortin’s agent Philippe Sauve.
Fortin was an unsigned invitee to the Blackhawks prospect camp last week and came out the camp’s breakout star. He impressed the Blackhawks with his offensive skill and scored a camp-high five goals in four scrimmages.
Fortin, 19, is eligible to sign an NHL contract, according to the CBA, because he played in North America in the QMJHL last season and was under the age of 20 at the time of this past draft.
