Forward Shaw Boomhower earned an invitation to the Chicago Blackhawks’ training camp Thursday after playing for the team during the prospect tournament this past week in Traverse City, Michigan.
Boomhower, who turns 20 on Oct. 31, tallied eight goals and five assists in 25 games for the Mississauga Steelheads in the OHL last season before being traded on New Year’s Day to the Ottawa 67’s. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder added a goal and two helpers in 14 games for Ottawa.
The Blackhawks open training camp at 10 a.m. Friday at MB Ice Arena. Chicago’s roster is comprised of 58 players: 31 forwards, 20 defenseman and seven goaltenders.
