Blackhawks acquire Sekac

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have acquired forward Jiri Sekac (SEH-katch) from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Ryan Garbutt.

Sekac, 23, has posted three points (1G, 2A) in 22 games with Anaheim this season, his second in the National Hockey League. The Kladno, Czech Republic, native also appeared in the 2015 NHL All-Star Skills Competition. He split the 2014-15 campaign with the Ducks and Montreal Canadiens, collecting 14 assists, 23 points and 22 penalty minutes in 69 regular-season contests; he also appeared in seven 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs games with Anaheim. Originally signed as a free agent by Montreal on July 1, 2014, he was traded to Anaheim on Feb.
