The Blackhawks made another move on Friday, acquiring defenseman Christian Ehrhoff from Los Angeles for Rob Scuderi.
With the move, the Blackhawks shed a little more salary. Scuderi has one season remaining on his current contract and the Blackhawkstook on $2.25 million of his cap hit (the Pittsburgh Penguins retained the other $1.125 million per season). According to Elliotte Friedman, the Blackhawks retained 50 percent of Scuderi’s salary while the Kings retained 15 percent of Ehrhoff’s salary. Ehrhoff was on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million this season.
The Blackhawks acquired Scuderi from Pittsburgh – in exchange for Trevor Daley – in December.
