The Chicago Blackhawks are getting closer and closer to a season-opening roster.
The Blackhawks made 14 cuts on Monday. That leaves them with 17 forwards, eight defensemen and three goalies.
At some point, the Blackhawks will either send goalie Ivan Nalimov back to the KHL or sign him to a pro contract. If it’s the latter, he’ll play in the AHL or ECHL. That leaves the Blackhawks with two goalies.
With the defensemen, the question is about Gustav Forsling. He’s still likely to return to Sweden for the season, but he has given them something to think about.
