The Blackhawks selected goaltender Drew Commesso from the U.S. National Development Team Program with the No. 46 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft on Wednesday.
Commesso went 18-7-1 with a 2.05 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and three shutouts last season. He will join two Blackhawks prospects at Boston University with defenseman Alex Vlasic (2019 second rounder) and center Jake Wise (2017 third rounder)
Commesso is 6-foot-2 and 181 pounds. He’s a left-handed catching goalie and ranked No. 2 among North American goalies by NHL Central Scouting.
More of my thoughts on Commesso, who became the second goaltender to get taken when Chicago snagged him 46th overall: pic.
