Blackhawks defenseman prospect Ian Mitchell and Rockford IceHogs goaltender Matt Tomkins will play for the Canadian national team later this month in the Spengler Cup tournament in Davos, Switzerland.
Expect Hockey Canada to name its Spengler Cup team soon. Veterans such as Versteeg, Upshall, Winnik, Fehr and Postma are on the roster. Young Dman, Ian Mitchell (Denver) also on the team. Fucale, Tomkins and U of A goalie, Brendan Burke are the goaltending trio.

Mitchell, who is a junior at the University of Denver, will play in the tournament while on holiday break, while Tomkins will miss at least three AHL games against Central Division opponents: Dec.
