The Chicago Blackhawks selected goaltender Dominic Basse, an Alexandria, Va. native, with the No. 167 overall pick in the sixth round of the NHL Draft Saturday in Vancouver.
Basse has spent the last two seasons with the Selects Hockey Academy’s 18U Midget team and is committed to continue his career at Colorado College, where he’ll join Blackhawks prospect Josiah Slavin, a 2018 seventh-round selection. But before he heads to Colorado, he’ll skate one season with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms, who drafted Basse in the fourth round during Phase II of the USHL Draft in May 2018.
