The NHL drops the puck on the Stanley Cup playoffs Wednesday night with a three-game slate.
The playoffs start in Canada with a Central Division matchup with the Minnesota Wild visiting the Winnipeg Jets. It’s the first playoff game in Winnipeg since Game 4 of the first round in 2015, when Anaheim swept the Jets. The Winnipeg franchise will be looking for its first playoff win since they were also swept in 2007, when they were the Atlanta Thrashers.
The two-time reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins host in-state rival Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers missed the playoffs in 2017 and haven’t made it out of the first round since 2012.
