One Chicago Blackhawks prospect will lift the Memorial Cup on Sunday night at WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ontario. The only question is who?
It’s a battle of two second-round draft picks as Alex DeBrincat (2016) and the Erie Otters face off against Graham Knott (2015) and the Windsor Spitfires to be crowned the Canadian Hockey League’s top team.
Windsor went 3-0 in round-robin play to automatically advance to the championship final. The Spitfires, the host team, defeated Erie 4-2 on Wednesday to earn a three-day break before the final. Knott has two goals and one assist in Windsor’s three victories.
