In Blackhawks rumors today, the Chicago Blackhawks may have a tough time re-signing their former first-round pick from the 2010 NHL Draft.
So says Blackhawks writer Chris Block, who says there is some tension between the Chicago Blackhawks and soon-to-be unrestricted free agent Kevin Hayes:
Re #Blackhawks '10 1st rd pk (24th) Kevin Hayes, @CHN_AdamWodon reporting Hayes won't sign w/ Hawks, citing "friction" over bro Jimmy trade.

However, Chris Brock did add that the Chicago Blackhawks have indeed made overtures to get a deal done before August:
Can say #Blackhawks have had dialogue with Kevin Hayes' agent as late as Friday. Hayes wouldn't be able to become a UFA until after Aug 15th — ChrisBlock (@ChrisBlock) April 12, 2014
The Chicago Blackhawks originally drafter Hayes 24th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, but as of now it doesn't look promising that the coveted center will see action in a Blackhawks uniform any time soon.
