With Steelers QB Russell Wilson in question, ex-Bear Justin Fields could start opener

The Bears are rooting for Justin Fields this season, and not just because they like him. If Fields plays 51% of the Steelers’ offensive snaps this season, the sixth-round pick the Bears got for him will convert to a fourth-rounder.

And now that starter Russell Wilson is in question with a calf injury, Fields could start the Steelers’ season opener Sunday against the Falcons in his hometown.

Wilson gave no clarity on his status Friday and said, “I’m trying to get my body ready to go and rock and roll. Just doing everything we can.
