We had high hopes. Very high. Almost all of us. We were sure the arrows were pointing up. Waaaay up. This was the year. The Bears were contenders.
That was then and this is now. Seven weeks into the 2019 season that vision is gone. Replaced with an average record, a last-place standing in the division and an almost non-existent shot at making the playoffs.
So where do the Bears go from here? The trade deadline came and went and Chicago stood pat. Right or wrong, the players currently inside Halas Hall will decide the near future of this team.
