During the week of the 2017 NFL Draft, former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson said this to the NFL Network regarding the idea of former North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky being picked before him:
“You’re gonna have to live with the consequences that come with it. That’s how I see it.”
Trubisky was selected second overall by the Chicago Bears (who traded up to get him) and Watson was taken 12th overall by the Houston Texans. Oh, and 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes was taken a couple spots ahead of Watson by the Kansas City Chiefs.
