According to a report from JP Finlay, who covers the Washington Football Team for NBC Sports, Washington has signed Chicago Bears’ practice squad running back Lamar Miller to their active roster.
Injuries to Antonio Gibson and Peyton Barber prompted Washington’s move. The league’s COVID protocols mean that Miller won’t be eligible to play this week when they play the Seattle Seahawks.
Practice squad players are essentially free agents that are able to sign with any team as long as they are signed to their new team’s active roster. If a player that is signed away is cut within three weeks he reverts back to his previous team.
