It is a big milestone for a junior-age player, and Victor Mete knew exactly when he would hit it.
Mete will play his 10th NHL game Thursday night against the L.A. Kings at the Bell Centre, meaning the first year of his entry level contract with the Canadiens will officially be triggered.
“I obviously wanted to make it to this game knowing what happens after the 10th game,” he said, “so I’m very happy that I can be here right now.”
The Canadiens are happy as well, because it is obvious their situation on defence would be a mess, or a bigger one, were it not for Mete.
