Unsung heroes on defense help Bears snap losing streak

TAMPA – It took a pair of undrafted rookies for the Bears to defeat former head coach Lovie Smith.

On a day when Chicago's offense looked mediocre, at best, the unheralded duo of safety Harold Jones-Quartey and linebacker Jonathan Anderson forced key turnovers to lift the Bears to a 26-21 victory.

With Chicago's defense expected to undergo a makeover in the offseason, Jones-Quartey and Anderson distinguished themselves as possible future building blocks.

Anderson is already the club's nickel linebacker, but with Shea McClellin (inactive) and Christian Jones falling out of favor, Anderson could compete for a larger role in base defense in 2016.
