RD Dylan McIlrath, Red Wings
McIlrath is the most famous player on the wire today. Reputedly the toughest player in the 2010 Draft (a point he emphasized by clobbering the also-tough Alex Petrovic in a fight at the top prospects game that year), he so impressed the Rangers that they made him the 10th overall pick that year. Not only was he the first real miss of that class, but New York selected him over Cam Fowler, a consensus top-four pick who slid all the way to 12th before Anaheim finally took him.
As famous as he is, McIlrath isn’t that interesting as a waiver possibility.
