The Bears fell in love with David Montgomery in the draft process, traded up to get him in the third round and the love affair has only picked up steam since become a Bear.
From the moment Montgomery stepped foot in Halas Hall, the rookie running back from Iowa State has been everything the Bears thought he was. And through the offseason program and mini-camps Montgomery has only solidified their conviction that he’s a perfect fit for Matt Nagy’s offense, or at least a much better fit than the departed Jordan Howard.
Montgomery’s debut in the Bears’ preseason opener Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers only accelerated the momentum and enhanced the too-good-to-be-true notion that the Bears have found their Kareem Hunt.
