Steve Kerr on gun-control after Las Vegas massacre: ‘I hope we can do more than just offer victims our thoughts and prayers'

SHENZEN, China — Flying separate from his team due to a passport delay, Steve Kerr and his wife, Margot, were waiting in an LAX terminal late Sunday night for their flight to Hong Kong.

But right before boarding, Kerr spotted some breaking news on a nearby television. Early reports were surfacing of a mass shooting in Las Vegas. There were no statistics or details yet, just shocking images.

“We didn’t know the casualty toll,” Kerr said Wednesday (Tuesday night Pacific Time). “We saw the horror, the live footage of it. Just hearing the automatic weapon was just terrifying.
