Free agent offensive tackle Jake Long is visiting the Chicago Bears on Thursday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
The first overall pick of the 2008 NFL draft, Long anchored the left side of Miami’s offensive line for five seasons before signing a lucrative free agent deal with the Rams in 2013.
While in St. Louis, Long tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on two separate occasions. The Rams released Long after the 2014 season to save $8 million in salary-cap space.
Long, 31, played for the Atlanta Falcons last year, where he appeared in only four games.
