September already feels like December for the hapless Bears. Worse, fans are looking forward more to the draft in May than the games in October, as the team appears to have very few playmakers to build around.
That’s why there is nothing more important to this team over the next three months than developing Leonard Floyd, the ninth pick of the 2016 draft out of the University of Georgia.
So far, Floyd has looked like a rookie. Before the season started, he missed time with an illness, a shoulder injury and a hamstring strain. Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has ambitious plans for Floyd, so the missed time was significant.
