Nikita Scherbak and Michael McCarron were recalled from the Laval Rocket on Sunday afternoon as the Canadiens attempt to shake things up following their worst start since 1941.
Currently, the Canadiens have 22 players on the roster, and they'll have to make space for one of the forwards. All signs point to Ales Hemsky being put on injured reserve. He left the game on Friday against the Anaheim Ducks with an upper-body injury.
Scherbak and McCarron will bring different assets to the team, although there's one, in particular, they already share: chemistry.
They play on the same line in Laval, and when they were in uniform the Rocket had the most potent offense in the entire AHL with 30 goals in six games.
