Bears general manager Ryan Pace did a season-opening press conference this morning. Here are some quick hits from his time with the media:
— On keeping K Eddie Pineiro, Pace said the goal all along was to find a young kicker they could groom. “We think it worked out just right,” he said.
— On TE Trey Burton, Pace said he was fully recovered from the sports hernia and the team was “smart” about how it worked him back into shape. Burton’s current injury is “an unrelated mild groin strain.” He’s uncertain whether he’ll play Thursday against the Packers.
