Pompei: John Fox sees clear skies and sunshine for the 2016 Bears

After more than two hours in the Bourbonnais heat, John Fox and I stepped into a training tent to get out of the sun. But wouldn’t you know he just brought the sunshine into the tent?

What came through in a 20-minute conversation with the head coach of the Bears is that he’s positively beaming about his team’s chances in 2016. Me, not so much.

Fox has earned the right to be optimistic in his second season with the Bears. As you may have heard, in his second year in Carolina he coached the Panthers to 11 wins and an NFC championship after going 7-9 the season before.
