Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky isn’t done yet.
Trubisky will not need season-ending surgery on his throwing shoulder after getting hurt Sunday against the Saints, ESPN reported. He has been out of practice this week, and coach Matt Nagy was unsure Thursday whether he’d be able to return this season.
It’s a near-certainty the Bears will rule him out for Sunday at the Titans when their final injury report comes out Friday. They expect to go into that game with Nick Foles as the starter and practice squad quarterback Tyler Bray behind him.
They would not be able to get another quarterback through the coronavirus protocol in time to play Sunday, but they had workouts scheduled for free agents Jake Rudock and Kyle Sloter.
