While there’s still time to alter the offseason schedule if need be, as of right now the NFL is planning to allow teams to open training camps on July 28, which is what was planned all along. In last week’s conference call with owners, league executive vice president and general counsel Jeff Pash also said that rookies and some veterans would be allowed to report earlier.
This jibes with what Chicago Bears rookie Cole Kmet said a couple weeks ago on the Chris Zorich Podcast when he indicated he was starting camp on July 21.
