NFL reviewing film of Javon Wims’ punches for possible suspension

Bears receiverJavon Wims is being investigated for a possible suspension, according to a source, one day after throwing two punches at the head of Saints safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

A decision about whether to suspend him is expected Monday; all such incidents are reviewed the day after games.

Wims will face, at minimum, a fine from the NFL. The Bears figure to discipline the third-year wide receiver as well. They could even consider parting ways with Wims, who has five catches this season.

Wims threw two right-handed haymakers at the helmet of Gardner-Johnson in the third quarter Sunday night.
