New Bears coach Ben Johnson said Wednesday he’s found “alignment” with general manager Ryan Poles.
In his introductory press conference, Johnson looked at Poles, who was seated in the front row.
“We are going to win in lockstep every step of the way,” he said.
Asked why he chose the Bears, he was blunt.
“The people,” he said.
The day the Bears explained the firing of head coach Matt Eberflus, president/CEO Kevin Warren said the team would retain Poles and that he would be the point person for the job search. Warren dominated that press conference, though, issuing an eight-and-a-half minute opening statement.
