New Bears CB Jaylon Johnson a perfect fit for their defense

The Bears have selected Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

A two-year starter with 7 career interceptions and 11 pass deflections in 2019, Johnson brings a lengthy 6-foot, 193-pound frame and likely projects as Chicago’s starting boundary cornerback, with Kyle Fuller playing alongside him on the field side. He joins the likes of Kevin Toliver, Tre Roberson and Artie Burns as competition for that other outside starting position, though Johnson’s upside far exceeds those of his more experienced teammates.
