Nagy part of a strong line of coaches in the Andy Reid tree

The announcement by the Bears makes Nagy the 10th former Reid assistant to become an NFL head coach. Reid worked under Mike Holmgren in Green Bay in the 1990's, but in 1999, he was hired as the head coach in Philadelphia. When he became the man in charge of the Eagles, Reid began hiring assistants in all three phases of the game that he would groom into head coaches of their own. The strategy has worked; in 19 seasons as a head coach with Philadelphia and Kansas City, Reid has a regular season record of 183-120 while going to the playoffs in 13 of those years.
