Tight end Tony Moeaki played for the Chiefs, Bills, Seahawks and Falcons during his first six NFL seasons. But putting a Bears helmet on for the first time was like nothing he’s ever experienced.
Moeaki grew up in the Chicago area cheering for the Bears and fondly remembers them winning the NFC Central title in 2001 when he was a student at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School.
That childhood allegiance made it extra special when Moeaki was signed by the Bears June 15 after participating in the team’s full-squad minicamp on a tryout basis.
