Mitch Trubisky is a symbol of hope for Bears fans.
He joins Sid Luckman (1939) and Bob Williams (1951) as the highest-drafted quarterback in franchise history. The team’s medium-term success and general manager Ryan Pace’s long-term future as an NFL executive is staked to his development.
Trubisky’s body of work as a college quarterback at the University of North Carolina is mostly limited to 13 starts, all of which came last season. He appeared in 17 games in 2014 and 2015, deferring to starter Marquise Williams. Despite that small sample size of starts, Trubisky feels prepared for his transition to the NFL.
