LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Bears running back Jeremy Langford is on a tear with 324 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in victories over San Diego and St. Louis.
In light of Langford’s recent success, here are five things to know about the 23-year-old rookie:
1. Heir apparent: Langford is the eventual permanent replacement for Matt Forte in the backfield. Forte, 29, has enjoyed a tremendous career in Chicago, but his contract is about to expire. The Bears no doubt appreciate Forte’s contributions, but they’re not prepared to overpay him. On the other hand, Langford checks all the boxes.
