Matt Nagy: No talk with bosses about job status after loss

Bears coach Matt Nagy said Monday that he’s had great communication with chairman Geroge McCaskey, president Ted Phillips and general manager Ryan Pace during the season, but said he’s had no conversation about his job status in the wake of Sunday’s loss.

“We haven’t had any of those discussions,” he said.

The McCaskeys have never fired a head coach during the season. Asked whether he still felt the support of ownership, Nagy said he did.

The coach said he’s talked with the highest levels of the franchiser regularly.

“When I have those conversations with George and Ted I just appreciate them being to understand it from my end and the things that we’re going through,” he said.
