The Bears have had two players opt out of the 2020 season. With Thursday’s deadline looming for NFL players to declare the same because of the coronavirus, head coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday he doesn’t know for sure if the Bears will have any more.
“We’re in a really good place,” Nagy said. “[We’re] kinda in a rhythm right now.”
Nose tackle Eddie Goldman opted out last week. Monday, safety Jordan Lucas did the same. Nagy described Goldman and Lucas as “two really good people who had to make tough decisions,” and said they have the Bears’ backing.
