FOXBORO, Mass. – When injuries depleted the Bears’ receiving corps last season, Marc Mariani helped fill the void, establishing career highs with 22 receptions and 300 yards.
Even though top wideouts Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White are back healthy this year, Mariani remains a key contributor in the passing game. The 6-1, 190-pounder had a productive training camp in Bourbonnais and excelled again in Monday’s joint practice with the Patriots in New England.
“He just makes catches,” said quarterback Jay Cutler.
