Making the grade: Assessing Bears' players, coaches in loss to Lions

QUARTERBACK: D

Caleb Williams (17 of 23, 134 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, 116.9 rating) was only momentarily able to rise above the muck of a putrid Bears offense, and not until after the Bears fell behind 24-0. Williams was sacked seven more times — including four times on third down in the first half. Williams rallied the Bears to start the second half with a touchdown drive that provided momentary hope. But his fumble under pressure — losing the ball when he pulled it back after the 49ers sniffed out the play — pretty much ended that.
